A pensioner has died after being hit by a car in East Lothian.
William Knox, 86, was struck by a black Honda Civic while crossing the A6093, Dovecot Park in Pencaitland, around 7.10am on Thursday, January 9.
He was taken by ambulance to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where he has died.
Police are keen to speak to the drive of a white van, which was seen in the area near the time of the incident.
Sergeant John Easton said: “Although this happened early in the morning, we know from CCTV that there was a white van in the area just around the time of the crash.
“It was not involved in the incident but the driver may have seen something or have dash-cam footage that may help our investigation.”
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
If you have any information about the incident contact police on 101.
