A major road has been closed at a roundabout after a crash involving a private van and a large vehicle.
Emergency services, including police and fire crews, were called around 3.50pm on Wednesday to the collision on the A1 heading north.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service mobilised three fire appliances and specialist resources to the scene.
The road between the Thistly Cross roundabout and the Haddington turn-off has been closed.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
STV NewsA Police Scotland statement read: “The A1 is closed northbound between the Thistly Cross roundabout and the Haddington turn off following a two-vehicle crash reported to police around 3.50pm on Wednesday, March 11.
“Road users are advised to avoid the area.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 3.51pm on Wednesday, March 11, to reports of a road traffic collision involving one private van and one large vehicle on the A1 near Haddington, East Lothian.
“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and specialist resources, and firefighters assisted emergency service partners at the scene.
“Crews remains in attendance.”
The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
