Police have now identified the woman as Vikki Soloman. Her family have been made aware.

Ms Soloman was the owner of an aesthetics business and recently gave evidence to parliament about the regulation of the independent aesthetics industry.

She described herself as a single parent of a disabled child who also had a disability herself.

Floral tributes have been left outside her home.

A 46-year-old has been arrested in connection with the incident, and an investigation remains ongoing.

Detective inspector Mark McGraw said: “Our thoughts and condolences are with Vikki’s family, who have requested privacy at this difficult time.

“A police presence will remain in the area while enquiries continue and to provide reassurance.

“Anyone with information or concerns can speak to our officers out on patrol or contact Police Scotland on 101.”
