British Transport Police have appealed for witnesses after an attack outside a Falkirk train station left a man with a broken leg.

The incident happened outside Falkirk High station at about 9.15pm on Saturday March 21.

The man had been waiting for a taxi outside the front of the station when two other men approached and a violent altercation broke out.

Members of the public had to step in to pull the two men away and help the man, who was left with a broken leg and ankle.

The two men fled the scene.

Detective Constable Liam Deasley said: “We believe there were several taxis that may have recorded the incident or the moments leading up to it on their dashcams, and many members of the public who witnessed the incident.

“I would urge anyone with footage of the incident, or who witnessed it or intervened, to get in touch to aid in our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 773 of March 21.
