The blood on an item of clothing found in Edinburgh earlier this week is from an animal, police have confirmed.
Officers were called to Corstorphine Hill in the capital at around 9.35am on Tuesday after a member of the public found a blood-stained item of clothing.
The item was sent to a laboratory for analysis and it has now been confirmed that it was animal blood on the clothing.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “No criminality is involved and our enquiries are now complete.
“Officers would like to thank members of the public who contacted police with information regarding this matter.”
