A body has been found in the River Tay during the search for a missing man on Thursday.
Guy Bargery was reported missing on Monday, January 27, from the Dundas Street area of Edinburgh at around 9.50am.
The 60-year-old’s Grey Volvo was found in Chapelhill near St Madoes in Perth, more than a 50-minute drive away, on Tuesday at around 2.30pm.
Emergency services discovered the body of a man in the River Tay near to Chapelhill at around 12.50pm on Thursday.
The body has not been formally identified but the family of Guy Bargey has been informed.
Police do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
A report is due to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.50pm on Thursday, January 30, 2025, the body of a man was found at the River Tay near to Chapelhill, Perthshire.
“Formal identification has still to take place however the family of 60-year-old Guy Bargery has been informed.
“There would not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
