Body found in woodland in search for missing teenager

A body has been found in the search for a teenage boy who had been reported missing from Kirkcaldy.

Jamie Lyons was reported missing on Sunday and was believed to have travelled to Glenrothes on the same day.

Police confirmed a body was found in woodland in the Oriel Road area of Kirkcaldy around 4.20pm on Monday during the search for the 19-year-old.

Formal identification is yet to take place but Jamie’s family have been made aware.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
