A care home boss who managed facilities for the elderly presented forged qualifications in order to gain a senior role.
Alison Grant was struck off the care register after it was discovered she had changed names on SVQ management certificates, altered dates and enhanced her level of attainment.
A probe by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) found Grant, who had managed homes in Galashiels and Melrose, also discovered documents from 2017 and 2020 had been edited.
She denied the allegations, stating she had submitted the wrong paperwork.
But SSSC bosses said she had been “dishonest,” ruling her offending was “at the most serious end of the scale”.
“Your actions were a pattern of behaviour in that you provided falsified qualifications on more than one occasion. You have not shown any meaningful insight and therefore the risk of repetition is assessed as high,” the watchdog said in its decision notice.
“Overall, your behaviour is fundamentally incompatible with professional registration. It falls below the standards expected of a registered social service worker.”
