A ten-year-old boy has died after getting into difficulty at a loch.
The incident took place at Loch Lubnaig, near Callander in Stirling, at around 5.35pm on Wednesday when the child became trapped in the water.
Emergency services attended but they were unable to rescue the boy and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have confirmed the incident.
A spokeswoman said: “We were called to reports of a child experiencing difficulty in the water at around 5.35pm on Wednesday.
“Sadly, the 10-year-old boy died.
“There are no suspicious circumstances.”
