Boy, 16, chased and stabbed by gang in city street

Police said detectives were aware of video of the incident involving a group of males and urged anyone who had seen the footage to get in touch.

A teenage boy is in hospital after being chased by a gang and stabbed in Edinburgh.

The 16-year-old was attacked on Stenhouse Avenue West at around 9pm on Sunday.

Emergency services attended and he was taken to hospital where he remains.

Police said detectives were aware of video of the incident involving a group of males and urged anyone who had seen the footage to get in touch.

Door-to-door enquiries are being carried out and officers are gathering CCTV footage from in and around the area.

Detective sergeant Kim Tennant said: “The motive for this attack is unknown and it’s imperative we trace those responsible.

“We have been made aware of potential footage of this incident circulating online.

“If anyone has seen this footage, please get in touch.

“If you have doorbell recording equipment or dash cams, please check the footage as it could have captured vital images which could assist us in identifying those responsible for this attack.”
