A 16-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after an alleged stabbing at an Edinburgh beach on Friday.
Armed police and paramedics were called to Portobello Beach at around 7.40pm following reports of a large-scale disturbance on the promenade.
A 17-year-old boy was found injured and taken to the Royal Edinburgh Infirmary for treatment.
A 16-year-old boy appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday charged with attempted murder and having a bladed weapon in a public place.
He made no plea and was granted bail. The teen’s next appearance is to be confirmed.
At the time of the attack, officers also charged a 14-year-old boy in connection with possession of a weapon.
He was due to be reported to the relevant authorities.
