A six-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being hit by a van while cycling his bike in East Lothian.

Emergency services were called to Scott Glynn Walk, in Tranent, at around 5pm on Saturday, June 13.

The boy was taken to hospital for treatment, while the driver of the vehicle was uninjured.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

Constable Daniel Carruthers said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash and who hasn’t already spoken to officers to get in touch.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area around the time and who may have dash cam or private CCTV which could assist to contact us.”
