A car has crashed on a motorway after a group of vandals were seen throwing bricks and a bike wheel over a bridge.
Police are appealing for information after the vehicle was hit by the items being thrown onto the M90 near Kelty on Tuesday.
The road was closed southbound at around 8.15pm and reopened at around 11.40pm.
Eyewitnesses reported “vandals throwing bricks and a bike wheel” off the pedestrian bridge which then “hit a car and caused a crash”.
Sergeant Kris Robertson, from Cowdenbeath Police Station, said: “Around 8.15pm on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, police were called to the M90 near Kelty, following a one-vehicle crash and reports of youths throwing items onto the roadway. The road was cleared around 11.40pm.
“Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, or believes they saw the youths in the area, to please come forward.
“We are also keen to hear from any motorists who were traveling on the M90 near Kelty and may have dashcam footage, which could assist our enquiries.
“Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101, quoting incident 3546 of August 29, 2023.”
