A child has been taken to hospital after falling from a cliff in East Lothian, with a multi-agency response sent to the scene.

Emergency services were called at around 4.40pm on Friday, June 26 to reports of a child who had fallen from a cliff at Dunbar.

Coastguard Rescue Teams from Dunbar and North Berwick were sent to the scene in the Castle Park area near Dunbar Leisure Pool.

The Scottish Ambulance Service, including an air ambulance, Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service all attended.

The child was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children & Young People in Edinburgh by land ambulance after sustaining injuries following a fall from rocks, and their condition is currently unknown.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 1643 hours on Friday to attend an incident on Bayswell Road in Dunbar.

“We dispatched one ambulance, our critical care team, our special operations team and an air ambulance to the scene.

“We transported one child patient to the Royal Hospital for Children & Young People in Edinburgh.”

Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have been contacted for comment.
