The “devastated” family of a man who died following an alleged assault in South Queensferry have paid tribute to him.
Emergency services were called to the incident on Morison Gardens around 6.10am on Friday.
A 54-year-old man died at the scene. He has now been named as Leigh McDonald from Edinburgh.
A 58-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the death.
He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.
A post-mortem examination is also due to be carried out, police said.
Mr McDonald’s family said: “We are devastated at the loss of a much-loved son and uncle. Leigh was loved by many people who will also be affected by this.
“We are taking it a day at a time, and we ask that our privacy is respected as we try to come to terms with what has happened.”
