A dog has died in a house fire in Fife.
Emergency services were called to the two-storey property on Main Street in Crosshill around 9.30pm on Wednesday.
Four fire engines and two relief crews were sent to the scene.
No injuries were reported, but a dog was pronounced dead.
Crews left the scene on Thursday morning after ensuring the area was safe.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 9.32pm on Wednesday, July 8 to reports of a dwelling fire on Main Street, Crosshill.
“Operations Control mobilised four appliances to the scene, where a fire was affecting a two-storey house.
“All persons were accounted for, but sadly a dog passed away.
“Crews worked at the scene until after 9am on Thursday, July 9 to make the area safe.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.55pm on Wednesday, we received a report of a fire at a property on Main Street in Crosshill, Lochgelly.
“Emergency services attended, and no injuries were reported.
“A dog was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. Inquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the fire.”
