A driver had a “lucky escape” after their car careered off the M8.
The one-car crash, near to Hermiston Gait in Edinburgh, happened at around 7.20pm on Thursday.
The driver was taken to hospital as a precaution.
Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit posted a picture of the wreckage on Twitter during the vehicle’s recovery.
The force stated: “A lucky escape for this driver today.
“Please remember to go safe, drive to the conditions and get home in one piece.”
A force spokesperson added: “The crash happened on the M8 eastbound between J1 and J2 at around 7.20pm on Thursday.
“One vehicle was involved.
“One person was taken to hospital as a precaution.
“The vehicle was recovered by 9.45pm.”
