Properties have been evacuated, and the public is being asked to avoid the area following a shop fire in Edinburgh.

Emergency services were called to Dalry Road around 4.58pm on Tuesday after the blaze broke out.

Six fire engines and a high-reach vehicle were sent to the scene.

One casualty was treated at the scene.

Lothian Buses have confirmed that services will be diverted as a result of the incident.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Dalry Road in Edinburgh is closed in both directions following a report of a fire at a premises around 5.25pm on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

“Emergency services are in attendance, and one person was treated at the scene.

“Nearby properties have been evacuated as a precaution and people are being asked to avoid the area.

“Enquiries into the cause of the fire are ongoing.”
