A drug trafficker involved in dealing more than £1m of cocaine and heroin has been jailed for six years.

Christopher Boyce was sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow.

The 39-year-old had earlier pleaded guilty to a charge of being involved in serious organised crime between April and June 2020.

Locations for the offence included Boyce’s flat in the city’s Oatlands and a property in Killearn, Stirlingshire.

Boyce was caught after the law authorities cracked the EncroChat phone network in 2020.

Prosecutor Colin Edward said he had communicated with at least 44 other dealers in connection with the “production, purchase and sale ” of drugs, as well as collecting or delivering the narcotics.

The cocaine was valued at £720,000, with the heroin potentially selling for £500,000.

Mr Edward said: “Boyce was also involved in the purification of cocaine by removing adulterants and the manufacture of crack cocaine.”

Brian McConnachie KC, defending, said Boyce had made “very foolish decisions” six years ago, but that there was no information to suggest he had been living “some kind of lavish lifestyle”.

Judge Alistair Watson reduced the jail term from seven years due to the guilty plea.
