A drug trafficker who was caught in a cupboard during a police raid agreed to hand over a luxury Swiss watch to settle a proceeds of crime action, a court heard.
Jordan McIntosh, 32, will lose the Tag Heuer timepiece worth an estimated £1,500 under a confiscation order made against him.
McIntosh from Edinburgh is currently serving a jail sentence after admitting to being concerned in the supply of heroin earlier this year.
Both McIntosh and a co-accused, George Wilson, 58, were imprisoned for three years after police recovered a haul of the Class A drug worth £238,000 on the streets at Wilson’s home on January 11 last year.
The Crown brought proceedings against the pair to claw back crime profits from them after they were convicted of the offence earlier this year.
The High Court in Edinburgh heard that an agreement has been reached to settle the proceeds of crime action brought against McIntosh.
Advocate depute Bryan Heaney stated that, under the settlement, it was agreed McIntosh benefited from general criminal conduct by £405,000.
He stated that the available amount for a confiscation order was £11,660, comprising a Tag Heuer watch with an estimated value of £1,500 and cash amounting to £10,160, which had been previously seized by the police at McIntosh’s home.
The court heard that McIntosh has signed a mandate surrendering the watch.
During the police search of Wilson’s home, heroin was found in a safe. McIntosh was discovered by officers in a cupboard which housed two safes. He was wearing gloves and was found to have a key for the safe.
Police recovered more than four kilos of “street-level purity” heroin during the raid on the flat.
A proceeds of crime action against Wilson, who was said to have allowed his home to be used for storing the drugs, continues.
