A flight bound for Edinburgh Airport asked to make an early landing after a mid-air emergency was declared onboard on Monday.
The Scandinavian Airlines aircraft took off from Stockholm, Sweden in the early hours of September 30.
The flight went on to squawk a code 7700, meaning there is a general emergency onboard.
Staff on the flight informed those on the ground that a passenger was in need of medical assistance.
A request was made to land the craft earlier than scheduled to ensure the individual onboard received the help they needed.
A Scandinavian Airlines spokesperson said: “We had a passenger with a medical condition onboard and we therefore asked for a quicker landing in order to assist this passenger properly.”
