A building was evacuated on Sunday after “potentially hazardous materials” were found inside.
Emergency services were called to The Pleasance in Edinburgh at around 4.45pm following reports of the discovery.
An exclusion area was erected, and the affected building was evacuated. Residents who were told to leave their homes were provided with shelter.
The materials were deemed not to be hazardous. An investigation into the incident is still ongoing
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.45pm on Sunday, January 19, 2025, we were called to a building on The Pleasance, Edinburgh, following the discovery of potentially hazardous materials within one of the rooms.
“An exclusion area was put around the building which was evacuated as a precaution. Residents were provided shelter.
“It was established the materials were not hazardous.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
