An Edinburgh carer has been removed from the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) register after he allegedly kissed colleagues against their will.
Yomi Adedeji was accused of grabbing a female colleague on three sperate occasions on or around May 20, 2022. During one incident Adedeji reportedly kissed his colleague on the neck.
Prior to May 20, the ex-social care worker allegedly described the female colleague as ‘sexy’ and told her ‘if you were mine, I would treat you like a queen’.
Adedeji is also accused of pulling down the mask of another colleague and kissing her whilst caring for a resident.
Once the pair entered a different resident’s room, Adedeji reportedly asked the colleague to pull her mask down so he could kiss her.
After the colleague responded no, Adedeji allegedly said ‘it’s not cheating, I am not trying to sleep with you’.
Following a SSSC hearing, the Edinburgh carer was removed from the register.
The published report read: “The behaviour raised serious questions about your character, attitude and values.
“The persistent and nature of your behaviour over a sustained period of time showed a disregard for the impact of your behaviour on your colleagues.
“The Panel had evidence that XX had repeatedly said no when you asked her for a kiss and that when ZZ tried to avoid a cuddle you grabbed her from behind.
“The Panel was satisfied that there would be a high risk of harm to others and therefore a serious issue of public protection.”
Adedeji denies the accusations of wrongdoing made by colleagues. He has 14 days to appeal the decision.
