Edinburgh Castle will be transformed this festive season as the Castle of Light returns for its fourth year.
The light show will be themed around “magic and mystery” and will see the landmark covered in a variety of projections and illuminations.
Visitors will be invited on an “immersive, after-dark walking trail” to be guided through the castle grounds.
It follows on from last year’s show which told the story of Scotland’s history through a “kingdom of colours”.
The event will run from Christmas Eve until January 3 with tickets costing £22 for adults and £12 for children. Those with a concession will be charged £16.
Historic Scotland members receive a 10% discount on any tickets.
