Police are investigating a wilful fire at the headquarters of a taxi firm in Edinburgh.
Emergency services were called to Capital Cars on Gorgie Road at around 3am on Monday.
Four fire engines and a height appliance were sent to the scene following reports of a building and car fire.
There was no significant damage to the building and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.
Two men, aged 25 and 26, have been arrested in connection.
Officers are looking into whether the deliberate fire is linked to an ongoing gang war in the Central Belt.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3am on Monday, August 18, 2025, we were made aware of a wilful fire at a premises in Gorgie Road, Edinburgh.
“Emergency services attended, however, the fire had not taken hold and there was no significant damage.
“There were no reports of any injuries.
“Two men, aged 25 and 26, were arrested in connection and enquiries are ongoing.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 3.13am on Monday, August 18, to reports of a building and car fire at the old taxi rank building on Gorgie Road in Edinburgh.
“Operations Control mobilised four appliances and one height appliance to the scene and firefighters extinguished both fires.
“No casualties were reported, and crews left the scene at 4.30am after ensuring the area was made safe.”
