Would you feed a tiger at Edinburgh Zoo for £1,000?

The Edinburgh attraction has announced an exclusive experience for animal lovers - but would you be brave enough to give it a go?

Edinburgh Zoo offer chance to feed lions and tigers in new bespoke experience for £1,000 per personRZSS

Do you think you’re brave enough to feed a hungry tiger its lunch- before tucking into your own?

That’s the newest experience being offered to animal lovers by Edinburgh Zoo, who say the “tailor-made adventure” is perfect for making some very unique memories.

The chance to feed a tiger – or another animal of your choosing – does come with a hefty price tag however, at £2,000 for two people.

For that, visitors will receive an “entirely private” adventure at the zoo, spending time with experienced keepers who will take you behind the scenes to meet the animals of your choosing – from chilled out koalas to cute pgymy hippos.

The private visits include a tea break, lunch at one of the on-site restaurants and a keepsake experience bag to commemorate your visit. Visits can even be upgraded to add on extra visitors from £1,000 per adult and £500 per child.

Visits can be upgraded further to include a private afternoon tea or champagne lunch.

David Field, Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) CEO, said: “It is so exciting to be offering this brand-new experience to visitors. You can explore Edinburgh Zoo like never before with our build-your-own Wild Experience, an entirely private, tailor-made adventure!

“Spending the day with one of our wildlife conservation charity’s passionate and knowledgeable keepers, they will take you behind the scenes to meet species of your choosing, from our gorgeous Sumatran tigers to Scotland’s only Queensland koalas.

“Not only is this an opportunity to make memories you’ll remember forever, it’s a chance to learn more about wildlife around the world and support conservation projects globally at the same time, creating a world where nature is protected, valued and loved.”
