Baby capybara named after Scotland's national drink

The male pup was born in early May and became the first capybara born in the country for 18 years.

Edinburgh Zoo’s newest capybara has been named after Scotland’s national drink.

The male pup was born in early May and became the first capybara born in the country for 18 years.

Members of the public had the chance to choose from four distinctly Scottish options provided by the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland.

Bru came out on top, beating Tunnock, Toddy and Tablet.

The newborn has already captured the imagination of social media users around the world, who have fallen for his clumsy antics.
