Eight youths have been charged after an Edinburgh bus driver was attacked near a hospital.
Emergency services were called to Little France Crescent, near the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, at around 6.50pm on Sunday, following reports of a man being assaulted by a group.
A 53-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment, and two youths were charged.
Following further investigations, six more youths have been identified and charged.
Those involved are due to be reported to the relevant authorities.
Chief superintendent David Robertson said: “This was an unprovoked attack on a man who was simply trying to do his job.
“Violent incidents like this will not be tolerated in our community, and we will ensure that those who do engage in this type of behaviour are brought to justice.
“We will continue to work with our partner agencies and would encourage anyone with information or concerns of this type of behaviour to call Police Scotland on 101.”
