Family 'devastated' after 'murder' of Bo'ness woman during Falkirk car chase

The family of a 27-year-old woman who died in a car crash in Falkirk have said they are “devastated” by the loss.

Amy-Rose Wilson, from Bo’ness, was killed during a two-vehicle collision on the B902 New Carron Road on July 29.

She was driving a silver Vauxhall Vectra at the time and was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering fatal injuries.

Her death is being treated as suspicious and a murder inquiry has been launched.

In a statement, Ms Wilson’s family said: “We are all devastated by the loss of Amy Rose.

“We are asking for privacy at what is a very hard time for her family and everyone who knew her.”

Detectives are currently hunting for the occupants of a black Mercedes C-Class which left the scene and was last seen heading north on B902 New Carron Road.

Shortly before the fatal crash, there was an altercation involving the occupants of the Vauxhall and the Mercedes outside an address in Foundry Street, Falkirk.

The altercation led to a “dangerous” pursuit of the Vauxhall leading to New Carron Road which caused it to crash with a Volkswagen Tiguan.

The 22-year-old passenger of Ms Wilson’s Vauxhall Vectra was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment while the 39-year-old man, who was driving a black Volkswagen Tiguan, suffered minor injuries.

Detective chief inspector Susan Balfour said: “Amy Rose’s death is being treated as murder and our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time.

“Our investigation is ongoing and I would like to reassure the public that we have a dedicated team of officers working on this investigation to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
