A new splash pad is to be created in Fife, with the council among those investing in the £275,000 project.
Councillors have given the scheme at the Links, in Burntisland, the green light, which will see the existing splash pad will be replaced with a modern wet play area and a new plant room.
The project, which is partly funded by Fife Council, the Fife Environment Trust, the Scottish Government, and a community fundraiser, comes after a successful petition by the local community.
It is described has having “more play value and inclusive features”.

The new splash pad is expected to open by spring 2026.
A Fife Council spokesperson said: “We’re thrilled to announce that a brand-new splash pad is coming to the Links!
“Thanks to strong community support – including a public petition and a successful crowdfunder – the existing splash pad will be replaced with a modern wet play area and a new plant room.
“The new design reflects what you told us you wanted: more play value and inclusive features.”
