A section of woodland in Fife has been cordoned off by police following a sexual assault.
Emergency services were called to the Dunnikier Way area of Kirkcaldy at around 2.55pm on Thursday after reports of the attack.
The investigation is at an early stage, but detectives are not treating the incident as rape.
An image taken of the scene shows police tape stretching across a path in the woodland area.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.55pm on Thursday, September 11, 2025, we received a report of a sexual assault in the area of Dunnikier Way, Kirkcaldy.
“Enquiries are at an early stage and officers remain in the area.”
