Firefighters have worked through the night tackling a blaze at a waste facility in Fife.
Several fire appliances went to the scene at a landfill site near Ladybank when the alarm was raised at around 1.35pm on Tuesday.
At the height of the incident 12 appliances and specialist resources were dealing with the blaze.
Six appliances and specialist resources were still at the scene at 6.30am on Wednesday.
Images posted on social media showed a large plume of grey smoke rising into the sky above the facility on Tuesday.
There were no reports of any casualties.
The fire service advised nearby residents to close doors and windows as a precaution.
Some roads in the area were closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.
In a statement, Fife Council said: “Firefighters are currently dealing with a fire at Ladybank waste facility.
“The site will be closed for the time being and we will keep customers updated here on service disruptions and when we expect to be able to reopen.”
