A car crash in Fife has left three people injured, including a five-year-old girl.

The collision, involving a blue Audi A3 and silver Vauxhall Corsa, happened westbound on the A985 Limekilns to Rosyth road at around 3.50pm on Boxing Day.

The male driver of the Corsa was seriously hurt, while his female passenger sustained minor injuries. Both were taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

Two girls in the back of the car were transported to the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People in Edinburgh.

Police said the five-year-old suffered minor injuries, while the two-year-old was not injured.

The male driver of the Audi was also uninjured.

Emergency services attended and the road was closed for around seven hours for investigation works and for the vehicles to be recovered.

Sergeant David Ross said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have seen what happened and has not already spoken to officers to get in touch.

“Anyone with dashcam footage from around the time of the crash is also asked to contact us.”
