Plans for a huge Lidl megastore have been submitted on the site of a former car showroom in West Lothian.
The plans to build the supermarket on Almond Road were submitted following a public consultation of people living in the Craigshill area.
The proposed store will create up to 40 full time jobs in the local area and will have a dedicated in-store bakery and 92 parking spaces including six dedicated accessible bays and nine parent and child bays.
The store will also feature two electric vehicle charging spaces.
A design statement submitted to West Lothian Council said: “The proposed development comprises the demolition of the existing car showroom and erection of a new discount foodstore with amended access, car parking, landscaping and other associated works.
“The proposed foodstore will include a sales area, a warehouse area and other ancillary floorspace.
“Facilities at the store will include an in-store bakery, customer toilets, staff welfare facilities, associated office space and utility space.
“Further details can be found in the accompanying plans.”
The application will now be considered by planning officers.
