Four men charged after cannabis farm worth £1.3 million raided in Scottish Borders

Four men have been charged after a cannabis farm worth £1.3 million was raided in the Scottish Borders.

At around 1.40pm on July 30, officers executed a warrant at a premises on Dovecote Street in Hawick.

More than 1,600 plants were discovered with an estimated value of at least £1.3 million.

The men, aged 45, 42, 41 and 35, were arrested and charged in connection with the discovery.

They have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal, and all four appeared at Jedburgh Sheriff Court on Friday, July 31.

Chief Inspector David Rourke said: “This was a significant recovery which demonstrates our continued commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.

“We remain committed to disrupting the sale and supply of illegal drugs in our communities of Hawick.
