A funeral for Cole Cooper is due to take place on Saturday, more than three months after the teenager’s disappearance.

The 19-year-old was reported missing on May 9 and was last seen in the Longcroft area near Falkirk.

Specialist search teams, including a police helicopter, drones, and officers from the dive and marine unit, joined the search.

Cole’s body was discovered in a wooded area near Kilsyth Road in Banknock on June 4 following extensive searches.

The teenager’s funeral is taking place despite the family stating there are “many unanswered questions.”

Anyone wishing to attend the funeral mass at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bonnybridge and the celebration of life at Bannockburn crematorium has been asked to wear blue.

Prior to the service, a minute’s silence will be held at 9.25am at the Bridge Inn alongside the hearse and funeral party.

Investigators are still treating the death as unexplained.

The police probe into Cole’s disappearance is being investigated by Policing Scotland’s Professional Standards Department following a complaint submitted by the family on May 14.
