A baby pygmy hippo has been pictured enjoying a festive dip with her mum at Edinburgh Zoo.
Haggis was born to mum Gloria and dad Otto at the facility on October 30 and quickly became a social media star, following in the footsteps of another popular baby pygmy hippo in Thailand.
Moo Deng became a viral sensation after keepers at Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chon Buri shared videos of her online.
The tiny hippo became a global icon thanks to her feisty personality.
Following the birth of Haggis, the pygmy hippo house was closed so staff could closely monitor the new arrival and her mother.
However, after the first 30 days of her life, which are critical for development, the youngster was introduced to the public at her habitat at the zoo.
Keepers have said the youngster is doing well almost two months on, enjoying swims in the facility’s pool under the watchful eye of mum Gloria.
Pygmy hippos spend time in water to keep their skin moist and regulate their body temperature.
The endangered species, native to West Africa, is incredibly rare, with an estimated 2,500 remaining in the wild due to habitat loss.
