Hawick Police Station was evacuated on Tuesday after a small possible unexploded ordnance device was handed in.
A member of the public handed in the item to officers at around 12.50pm at the station on Howdenbank in the Borders.
The building was evacuated and cordoned off. The bomb squad arrived, and the device was safely removed from the area.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.50pm on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, a member of the public handed in a small possible unexploded ordnance to Hawick Police Station.
“The station was evacuated and an area around the building was cordoned off as a precaution.
“Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) attended and the item was safely removed.”
