Wards have been closed at two hospitals in the Borders following an outbreak of coronavirus.
The Hay Lodge site in Peebles and Ward 9 at the Borders General Hospital have been closed to new admissions after staff and patients linked to the sites tested positive for the virus.
All but “essential visiting” has also been suspended at both wards.
It comes after it was revealed that one in 20 people in Scotland were estimated to have had coronavirus in the last week.
NHS Borders have said the situation was being kept under regular review and the restrictions would be eased as soon as it was safe to do so.
In a statement, the health authority said: “Ward 9 in the BGH and Hay Lodge Hospital in Peebles are both closed to admissions due to Covid-19 outbreaks.
“All but essential visiting is currently suspended in both facilities.
“The situation is being kept under regular review and these restrictions will be eased as soon as it is safe to do so.
“If your visit is essential please contact your loved one’s care team to make arrangements.”
