Police are searching for a driver who caused a car to crash into a barrier to avoid a collision.

A blue Seat Arona was seen driving dangerously on the A68, near the junction with the Edinburgh City Bypass, between 8pm and 8.30pm on Wednesday.

The driver of a white Fiat 500 car was forced to take evasive action to avoid a collision and crashed into a barrier.

The Seat Arona failed to stop at the scene. No injuries were reported.

Police constable Geoff Valentine, from Dalkeith Roads Policing said: “Enquiries into this incident are ongoing.

“I would ask anyone who has any information that will assist this enquiry and identify the registration, or driver of the blue Seat Arona, to come forward and contact police on 101, quoting incident number 3371 of 22/07/2026.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area at this time and has a dash cam fitted to their vehicle, to review footage.”
