The hunt for a man wearing a dog lead around his neck is continuing nearly a month after a woman was attacked in Dalkeith.
The 26-year-old woman was on a path in a wooded area near to a golf club on Abbey Road between 5.30pm and 6pm on October 4 when she was approached.
The man, who was wearing a dog lead around his neck, then seriously assaulted the victim.
Emergency services attended the scene, and the woman was taken to hospital but has since been released.
Police are continuing to search for the man, who is described as white, in his late 30s, with stubble.
At the time of the attack, he was wearing black trousers and a black waterproof jacket.
It is not believed that he had a dog with him at the time.
Officers have established that several people were in the area around the time of the incident who have yet to speak to police.
An increased police presence remains in the area as investigations continue, and the force is urging anyone with information to come forward.
Detective inspector Diane Barr said: “We would like to thank the local community for their assistance so far and ask those that were in the area on that day that have still to speak to the police to come forward, even if you believe you have nothing to report, your information could prove vital.
“Alternatively, contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference number 3107 of October 4, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
An online portal has been launched for anyone to submit information regarding the incident.
