Hunt for missing schoolgirl following 'out of character' disappearance

Police are searching for a missing schoolgirl who was last seen three days ago in East Lothian.

Aleighsha Brechin was last seen in the West Loan area of Prestonpans at around 8.30am on Wednesday morning.

The 13-year-old is described as being 5ft 4in and at the time of her disappearance was wearing a black hooded jumper, black tracksuit bottoms and white Nike trainers.

Aleighsha also has links to Edinburgh including the Fort Kinnaird area.

Inspector Calum Champion said: “It is out of character for Aleighsha to be out of contact with family or friends and we are asking anyone who may have seen her to contact us.”
