A hunt is under way for a Staffordshire Bull Terrier after it attacked a four-year-old boy and a woman in the Borders.
Police said around 3pm on Saturday, January 4, a 35-year-old woman and a four-year-old boy were attacked from behind while walking by a brown and tan Staffy-type dog.
The attack, which left the child with facial injuries, took place in the Wilson Drive area of Hawick.
The woman suffered an arm injury and both were taken to Borders General Hospital for treatment.
The dog was last seen heading towards Chay Blyth Place.
A Police Scotland statement read: “Anyone who witnessed what happened, or who may have information that could help identify the owner of the dog responsible, is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1789 of Saturday, January 4, 2025.”
