Police have appealed for information following a fire at a farm in Earlston.

Around 70 bales of hay were set on fire at the farm around 6.40pm on Saturday.

Fire crews were called to the scene and were able to extinguish the blaze.

An investigation has now been launched by police, who are reviewing CCTV from the area to trace those responsible.

Detective Constable Liam Myers of CID said: “Thankfully no-one was injured as a result of the fire.

“We are carrying out a review of CCTV to identify who is responsible. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting 3126 of Saturday, October 5, 2024.”
