An investigation has been launched after a person was raped near a river in East Lothian during the early hours of Saturday morning.
The attack occurred near the River Tyne in Haddington and towards Lady Kitty’s Garden between 1.50am and 2.20am.
Police were alerted to the sexual assault at 2.50am on Saturday. No arrests have been made, and an investigation is ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.50am on Saturday, July 5, 2025, a report was made to police of a serious sexual assault near the river and towards Lady Kitty’s Garden, Haddington.
“The incident was reported to have happened between 1.50am and 2.20am.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
