An investigation has been launched after a woman was reportedly assaulted at a protest in Edinburgh.
Police were alerted to the incident at a protest on Hope Park Avenue at the Meadows in Edinburgh around 9.20pm on Friday.
Protestors from Stand Up to Racism say they gathered to counter a “far-right” demonstration.
A 64-year-old woman was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.
Police say enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.20pm on Friday, August 1, 2025, we received a report of an assault at a protest on Hope Park Avenue, Edinburgh.
“Officers were in attendance, and a 64-year-old woman was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
