Cash and jewellery have been stolen from homes in a spate of break-ins on the same day in the West Lothian area.

Police are treating the break-ins at four properties as linked and have appealed for information on a red Alfa Romeo car seen in the area at the time.

A property on Barn Place in Livingston was broken into between 2.30pm and 3.30pm on Thursday, October 3, and jewellery was taken.

Another property on Anderson Green, also in Livingston, was then broken into between 3.30pm and 5.25pm and jewellery and cash were stolen.

A property on Blinkbonny Gardens in Breich was broken into between 4.30pm and 6.35pm and cash and jewellery were taken.

Between 5pm and 6.50pm, there was also a break-in on Redlands Court in East Whitburn but nothing was taken.

Police are treating all of the incidents as linked and are investigating the full circumstances.

A red Alfa Romeo car was seen in the area of the break-ins around the time, and detectives are appealing for further information.

Detective Sergeant Keith Sinclair said: “There have been a number of break-ins in the West Lothian area recently and our investigation is focusing on these potentially being linked.

“I’d urge anyone with information, or who has seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area, to come forward. I’m particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage of a red Alfa Romeo vehicle in the area.”

Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 2406 of October 3. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
