A kayaker has been rescued after falling into water while fishing off the East Lothian coast.
The man had been spotted clinging to his craft by a passing angler, near Skateraw on Saturday morning.
He was helped aboard by the angler and they were escorted to the shore by RNLI Dunbar.
The crew helped the man reach waiting coastguard teams from Dunbar and North Berwick.
He was assessed by the Scottish Ambulance Service and – although extremely cold – was unhurt.
The incident happened shortly before 7am.
The lifeboat crew later recovered the man’s kayak, before being stood down around 8am.
A Dunbar RNLI spokesman said: “Although the kayaker was well-equipped, he had been in the water for some time and was initially reluctant to call for help.
“We would urge anyone in difficulty in or near the water to call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.”
