Tributes have been paid to a pedestrian who died after being struck by a car in Edinburgh.
Suzanne Farrell, 62, was on Marionville Road when she was hit by a silver Vauxhall Zafira around 10.50pm on Friday.
Her daughter, Kerryann Hutchison, described her as a “gentle and beautiful soul”.
Emergency services attended the scene and she was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, however Ms Farrell died of her injuries on Saturday morning.
In a statement, Ms Hutchison said: “My mum was honestly the sweetest, kindest, most loving, caring, gentle and beautiful soul, and enjoying life.
“She is sorely missed by everyone who knew her. I am broken by what has happened, as are the rest of the family and all friends who knew her.
“I would like to say thank you to the staff and customers of The Hoppy Bar, where she had been that night, for their help and support. I could not have coped without them. And a thank you to the emergency services.”
A 33-year-old man was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident, before being released pending further enquiries.
Officers are continuing with enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash.
Anyone with information should phone 101, quoting incident number 4131 of May 6, 2022.
