Police appeal over deliberate car fire which spread to garage

Police are investigating a deliberate car blaze which spread to a nearby garage in West Lothian.

Fire crews were called after a Land Rover Discovery was torched in Mains Place, Whitburn at around 2.30am on Sunday May 28.

Flames had spread to a detached garage and caused damage, police said.

There were no confirmed injuries.

Detective Constable Jennifer Rogers said: “It is fortunate that no one was hurt. The fire spread to a nearby building which was also damaged.

“We are appealing for anyone with dash-cam or private CCTV footage that could assist us with our investigation to contact us.”
